Your First Visit

Choosing the orthodontic treatment that’s best for you is an important decision. It’s our goal to understand your goals, educate you on effective treatment options, and make sure you feel comfortable every step of the way!

Some ways we accomplish this is through our professional offices, private treatment rooms and friendly staff at both our Ellicott City and Clarksville offices. We also make sure our team of specialist orthodontists are available to answer any questions you might have about your orthodontic care, with Your Smile Your Way ®.

What will happen during the initial appointment?

Your first visit with us at OX Orthodontix® is completely free. We want you to get familiar with our practice, tell us about your lifestyle preferences and explain your goals and expectations for orthodontic treatment. We’ll get to know you and do a complete oral exam, including digital X-rays, if necessary. We’ll also collect all necessary information in order prepare a unique treatment plan just for you.

During the appointment, we will conduct a thorough evaluation of your orthodontic needs and outline different treatment methods that benefit you:

Medical History.:

The first step in your Orthodontic treatment is to complete the Online Health History Form. This form asks for your basic contact & insurance information, your dental history, as well as your medical history, such as allergies & medications.

Digital Records:

After completing the Medical History form, we will begin taking any necessary records. These records may include digital radiographs (x-rays), digital photographs and a direct exam. Each of these records help us formulate a treatment plan customized to your needs.

Treatment Plan & Cost:

Upon completion of the direct exam, we will provide you with a recommended treatment plan, including the fees for the treatment. We make it a priority to answer all your questions about the plan, and welcome you to ask questions throughout the entire course of treatment.

Getting Started:

Once you’ve selected a treatment plan and we’ve agreed upon a financing plan, you’re ready to get started!
