Facebook Pixel OX Orthodontix :: KEEPING PATIENTS HEALTHY

Dear Neighbors, Patients, and Friends of OX,

As it has always been, the health and peace of mind of our patients and team members remains our highest priority. We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 information and are aware of the recent media coverage and recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO), U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and local authorities.

At OX, we are emphasizing all of our regular disinfection and barrier protocols.  We comply with all CDC and OSHA directives for disease prevention and protection. Every single instrument is sterilized after every use.  Face masks and gloves are changed before seeing each patient. Between patients we wipe down the dental chair and surfaces with disinfectant.  This has always been part of our standard disease prevention protocol.

As we have stressed in the past, we are a ‘well’ office and we ask all scheduled patients who are experiencing symptoms of any respiratory virus or communicable disease to call us to reschedule. Specifically, under these current circumstances, we are asking that you not come into the office if you have a fever, are coughing, sneezing, or having difficulty breathing, or if you have been exposed to someone with the COVID-19 virus. We are seeing only well patients in our office.

Those who have traveled outside the US particularly to countries with high exposure to the coronavirus including but not limited to China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, Italy and Iran or who have been in contact with persons exposed to the coronavirus should be quarantined 14 days, beginning the day after they left China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Italy, Iran. CDC guidance on returning travelers is available here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/index.html

For office appointments, we are asking parents to please stay in the reception area or in the car while their children are treated. For very young children or those who need TLC we will make accommodation for a parent to join the patient in the clinical area.  We ask that parents/patients do not bring friends or siblings into the office who do not have a treatment appointment.

Stay Connected with us:  A BIG plus which makes OX unique is that we have Dental Monitoring remote appointments and Virtual Consultations.

These ‘Virtual House Calls” allows your treatment to continue, uninterrupted, and without any inconvenience, while affording a safer treatment option for all patients and our team.  These are excellent options and will reduce the number of in-office appointments you will need to have. You have 2 choices:

1-   Dental Monitoring App: We recommend this for our patients who are currently in orthodontic treatment.  We help you download our Remote Monitoring App to your smartphone and train you in it’s use.  Please contact the office by phone, text, or email to schedule a time to participate in our Remote Monitoring service.

2-   Free Online Smile Consultation: A Virtual Appointment is an excellent choice for New Patients who want to learn about orthodontic treatment from home or our regular patients who want to contact us for any reason.  At your convenience, use the Free Online Smile Consultation tab on our website to meet with us.  You may be asked to send photos and pertinent information and we will respond and schedule a Zoom meeting together.

For your convenience and safety, Observation Patients who are scheduled for an appointment or are ready for an evaluation regarding orthodontic treatment can also choose to either use the Free Online Smile Consultation tab on our website or can download our Remote Monitoring App to your smartphone for remote observation appointments now and also going forward.

Your treatment and desire for information need not be put on hold. Make use of our excellent remote technologies to keeps you connected to your OX team.

We are assessing the situation daily and remaining vigilant for the health and benefit of everyone in our community.  Learn more about the coronavirus athttps://www.who.int/health-topics/coronavirus.
