OX Orthodontix team members and doctors attended the 118th American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) Annual Session in early May in the nation’s capital of Washington DC.

The theme for 2018 was “A Capital Destination, a Monumental Experience.” The team excitedly joined attendees from around the world at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center with high expectations which were met opening night. They were treated to a performance by actress and singer Kristen Chenoweth.

Along with professionals from around the world, our team was busily partaking in an abundance of continuing education opportunities and seeing the very latest orthodontic products and technology so that we could bring our findings back for our patients to benefit from the latest and greatest in treatment technology and service.

Over 375 companies from around the world displayed their products and services at the exhibit hall. This comprehensive annual exhibit is the largest orthodontic gathering of companies in the world.

Our team from the clinical, administrative and marketing areas participated in plenty of educational opportunities including lectures by leading orthodontists on topics such as early treatment and hands-on courses about patient photography.

OX Orthodontix was particularly interested in delving into Dental Monitoring, an artificial intelligence software, as this new technology is transforming patient care and is of great interest for our patients who want fewer in office visits. The app enables patients to utilize home monitoring. OX Orthodontix has offered Dental Monitoring since it was introduced in the United States in 2016. Patients receive automatic feedback about treatment right on their own smartphone on their own time and wherever they are located.

After dark, the OX Orthodontix team dined at a few exciting restaurants like Old Ebbitt Grill, a D.C. tradition since 1856 and attended the AAO Celebration at the historic Old Post Office.
